Pulse-contact LED dimmer with display, single button, low-side switched

Article number PR142s66

The PR142s66 dims lighting with a single external pulse contact, through a low-side switched PWM output of up to 3.5 A. A short press switches the lighting on or off, holding the button dims, and a double click takes the output straight to maximum. The limits, dimming speed and dimming curve are set on the display, as is the behaviour at switch-on and after a power interruption. After an adjustable time of 1 to 100 hours the dimmer switches off automatically, so lighting does not stay on unnecessarily.

  • Supply 24 V DC ±10 %
  • Input one pulse contact (normally open) between terminals 2 and 3
  • Output PWM, low-side switched: lighting between terminals 1 and 6

Setup

  1. Connect the lighting between terminal 1 and terminal 6, and the switch between terminal 2 and terminal 3.
  2. Link terminal 2 to terminal 7 with a short wire rated for the maximum output current.
  3. Apply 24 V DC to terminal 1 (plus) and terminal 2 (minus).
  4. Set the lower and upper limit of the output with Dimming MIN and Dimming MAX.
  5. Set the dimming speed with Dimming Speed: 1 is the slowest, 100 the fastest.
  6. Use Startup mode to choose how the dimmer switches on with the button: 0 = always at 100 %, 1 = at the last dimming level.
  7. Use Powerup Mode to choose what the dimmer does after a power interruption: 0 = stay off, 1 = switch on.
  8. If required, use Auto off hours to set a time of 1 to 100 hours after which the dimmer switches off automatically; 0 disables this function.
  9. Other menu items: Dimming curve (1 for incandescent lamps, around 100 for most LED lamps; only change it if dimming is not smooth), Softstart (0 = off, 1 or 2 = gradual on and off over 1 or 2 seconds) and PWM Freq. (100 Hz as standard; only change it if strictly necessary).
  10. Go to the SAVE menu to store the new settings.

Application

  • Operating and dimming lighting with a single push button
  • Dimming LED lighting with an adjustable dimming curve
  • Preventing lighting from staying on unnecessarily, with automatic switch-off
