PR181 module with PWM output in DIN rail enclosure, front three-quarter view

0-10 V to PWM signal conditioner, high-side switched, with display

Article number PR181-X066

The PR181-X066 converts a 0-10 V signal into a high-side switched PWM output of up to 3 A: the load is connected between the output and the supply minus. As delivered, 0 V on the input gives a 0 % duty cycle and 10 V gives 100 %. Lower and upper limits of input and output, the rise and fall rate and the PWM frequency (3 Hz to 50 kHz) are set on the display.

  • Supply 9 to 30 V DC
  • Input 0-10 V on terminal 3, 11 V max.
  • Output PWM, high-side switched, on terminal 6; 0 to 100 % duty cycle, lower and upper limit adjustable

Setup

  1. Connect the module according to the terminal table, with the supply plus on terminal 1 and terminal 7, and switch on the supply.
  2. Bring the input to its lowest level, for example 0 V. In the menu, select IN1 – Set minimum, press OK, select YES and press OK again.
  3. Bring the input to its highest level, for example 10 V. Select IN1 – Set maximum, press OK, select YES and press OK again.
  4. Set the lower limit of the output with OUT1 minimum adj: change the value with UP and DOWN and confirm with OK. The value runs from 0 (0 % duty cycle) to 4095 (100 %).
  5. Set the upper limit of the output in the same way with OUT1 maximum adj.
  6. If required, set the rise and fall rate with Ramp-Up and Ramp-Down, and the PWM frequency with PWM Freq.
  7. Setting OUT1 invert to 1 reverses the output: the lowest input level then gives the highest output level.
  8. Go to the SAVE menu to store the new settings.

Application

  • Driving motors, pumps, valves and hydraulics smoothly with the adjustable rise and fall rate

PR181 series: signal conditioners with display

The modules in the PR181 series are set up on the display on the module, using the UP, DOWN and OK buttons. On most versions the lower and upper limits of input and output are set independently, as is the rise and fall rate of the output; the settings of each module are listed on the product page under Setup. With an adjustable rise and fall rate, motors, pumps, valves and hydraulics can be driven smoothly. On versions with an analogue output, that output is galvanically isolated from input and supply to prevent ground loops. New settings are stored through the SAVE menu. The standard DIN rail enclosure measures 45 x 83 mm (board 42.6 x 72 mm); versions with more terminals are wider. Most modules run on 9 to 30 V DC at -25 to 55 °C, non-condensing.

For some conversions there is also a version without display and without galvanic isolation in the PR100 series: it is set up with push buttons and runs on 12 and 24 V DC (operating range 11 to 30 V DC). Where one exists, it is listed on the product page under Other version.
