The PR515x501 measures the temperature with a PT100 or PT1000 sensor in a 2-, 3- or 4-wire connection and passes it on as 4-20 mA. The sensor input is galvanically isolated from the supply and the output, so a sensor in contact with an earthed part of the installation does not cause a ground loop. The sensor type and the temperature at 4 and at 20 mA are set on the OLED display.

Setup

Connect the supply, the sensor and the output according to the wiring diagram supplied with the module.
On the display, select the sensor type (PT100 or PT1000) and the connection (2-, 3- or 4-wire).
Set the temperature at 4 mA and at 20 mA and store with SAVE.

Application

Connecting a PT100 or PT1000 in an earthed pipe or tank without a ground loop
Passing the temperature of a process or cooling circuit to a PLC with a 4-20 mA input
Replacing or combining an existing PT1000 sensor without changing the PLC

PR515 series: controllers and converters with OLED display

The modules in the PR515 series have an OLED display and push buttons, so they can be set up without a computer and show the current values of inputs and outputs. They run on 12 and 24 V DC systems. Most versions can be extended on request, for example with an extra relay output, a PWM output, a bus connection (CAN bus or Modbus) or a different sensor input.
