PR149 board from above: two relays and terminals for emergency (Nood), lamp, main (Hoofd) and switched contact

230 V AC emergency lighting switch

Article number PR149

In normal operation the lighting is controlled with an ordinary wall switch. If the 230 V AC mains fails, the PR149 switches the lighting on automatically, so you are not left in the dark during a power failure. The lighting is always fed from the emergency circuit. The contacts switch up to 10 A resistive or 4 A with an AC-15 type load.

  • Supply 230 V AC
  • Output lamp circuit 230 V AC, 10 A resistive or 4 A AC-15 load max.

Setup

  1. Connect the emergency circuit to Nood N and Nood L, the main circuit to Hoofd N and Hoofd L and the lighting to Lamp N and Lamp L.
  2. Connect a standard wall switch between the live of the main circuit and the Schak. contact terminal. Always switch the live, never the neutral.

Application

  • Emergency lighting in buildings, installations and on board that switches on automatically when the mains fails
  • Lighting that is controlled with an ordinary wall switch in normal operation

Emergency power and emergency lighting

These modules switch automatically to an emergency supply or emergency circuit when the main supply fails. The PR149 and PR161 use relay logic at 230 V AC, without digital circuitry; for these two another operating voltage, such as 120 V AC or 24 V DC, is available on request. The PR150 switches over a 24 V DC supply, is fully analogue, without microcontroller or software, and has an alarm contact.

PR149: the emergency lighting switches on as soon as the 230 V AC mains fails; in normal operation the lighting is controlled with a wall switch. PR161: when the main circuit fails, the lighting is switched to the emergency circuit; the changeover can also be controlled externally. PR150: changeover from main to emergency supply at 24 V DC, up to 8 A, with alarm contact.
