Wide PR181 module with twelve screw terminals in DIN rail enclosure, front three-quarter view

Five digital inputs to PWM signal conditioner, high-side switched, with display

Article number PR181-X060

The PR181-X060 reads five 12 V digital inputs and uses them to drive one high-side switched PWM output of up to 1 A. For each input, the duty cycle of the output is set on the display, independently of the other inputs: for example 50 % for input 1, 25 % for input 2 and 100 % for input 3. If more than one input is active, the input with the lowest number applies; if no input is active, the output is at 0 %. The rise and fall rate and the PWM frequency are adjustable as well.

  • Supply 9 to 30 V DC
  • Input five 12 V digital inputs, on terminals 4 to 8, 13 V max.
  • Output PWM, high-side switched, on terminal 10; duty cycle adjustable per input

Setup

  1. Connect the module according to the terminal table, with the supply plus on terminal 1 and terminal 11, and switch on the supply.
  2. In the menu, select Input 1 PWM out and use UP and DOWN to set the duty cycle the output gets when input 1 is active. Confirm with OK.
  3. Set Input 2 PWM out to Input 5 PWM out in the same way. Each value is independent of the others and does not have to be in order.
  4. If required, set the rise and fall rate with Ramp up and Ramp down, and the PWM frequency with PWM frequency.
  5. Go to the SAVE menu to store the new settings.

Application

  • Driving motors, pumps, valves and hydraulics smoothly with the adjustable rise and fall rate

PR181 series: signal conditioners with display

The modules in the PR181 series are set up on the display on the module, using the UP, DOWN and OK buttons. On most versions the lower and upper limits of input and output are set independently, as is the rise and fall rate of the output; the settings of each module are listed on the product page under Setup. With an adjustable rise and fall rate, motors, pumps, valves and hydraulics can be driven smoothly. On versions with an analogue output, that output is galvanically isolated from input and supply to prevent ground loops. New settings are stored through the SAVE menu. The standard DIN rail enclosure measures 45 x 83 mm (board 42.6 x 72 mm); versions with more terminals are wider. Most modules run on 9 to 30 V DC at -25 to 55 °C, non-condensing.

For some conversions there is also a version without display and without galvanic isolation in the PR100 series: it is set up with push buttons and runs on 12 and 24 V DC (operating range 11 to 30 V DC). Where one exists, it is listed on the product page under Other version.
